Después
de un juego frustrante de “spoons,” nosotros nos fuimos a la escuela. En la escuela jugamos a BINGO en español y
aprendimos los tiempos verbales del presente y el pasado. Cuando se terminaron las clases, fuimos al
mercado en tres grupos diferentes (verde, azul y anaranjado) para comprar
ingredientes para el concurso de guacamole.
Fuimos a Casa Ayuda, una organización que ayuda a los niños que vienen
de familias inestables. En Casa Ayuda
cada grupo hizo su propio guacamole and lo sirvieron a los jueces. El equipo anaranjado hizo un guacamole con pimienta
y tomates en forma de barco en el guacamole.
El equipo azul hizo un guacamole clásico con totopos rodeándolo. El equipo verde hizo un guacamole picante con
mucho sabor. Al final, los jueces decidieron
que el equipo azul era el ganador, con el equipo verde en segundo lugar y el
equipo anaranjado en tercer lugar.
Después del almuerzo y la siesta, nosotros fuimos a la práctica de
fútbol. Fue un partido desafiante (7-5),
y todos nos divertimos.
¡La cena era
deliciosa! Comimos tamales y bebimos
Atole, que sabe a “rice pudding.” Ahora,
muchos de nosotros estamos jugando “taps” y otros están jugando al
ajedrez. En general, fue otro día lleno
de diversión aquí en San Miguel.

Thursday
After a frustrating game of “spoons,” we departed for
school. In Spanish school we played
“Spanish BINGO” and learned the present and past tenses. When classes ended, we went to the market in
separate groups (green, blue and orange) to buy ingredients for our guacamole
contest. We went to Casa Ayuda, an
organization that helps children with troubled families. At Casa Ayuda, each group made their own
guacamole and served it to the judges.
The orange team made a salty guacamole with peppers and tomatoes shaped
in a boat in it. The blue team made a
classic guacamole with a ring of chips around it. The green team made a spicy guacamole with
lots of flavor. At the end, the judges
decided that the blue team was the winner, with the green team in second place
and the orange team in third.
After
lunch and a siesta, we went to soccer practice.
It was a challenging game (7-5), and we all had fun. Dinner tonight was delicious! We ate tamales and drank Atole, which tasted
like rice pudding.
Now, many of us are
playing “taps” and others are playing chess.
Overall, it was another fun-filled day here in San Miguel.
