Día 8

Viernes

Hoy fue un día muy rápido y emocionante.  El desayuno era lo normal y por los cuarenta minutos que quedaban, jugamos al ajedrez y a las cartas.  La caminata a la escuela siempre es divertido, pero hoy fue más divertido porque hacía buen tiempo.  Cuando llegamos a la escuela, nosotros cantamos las canciones Cielito Lindo y La Bamba.  Para Cielito Lindo, nos dividimos en dos grupos.  Cada grupo cantó una estrofa y todos cantamos el coro.  Ambos grupos compitieron para ver qué grupo canta más alto.  Para la canción La Bamba, Felipe era el solista, y él cantó las estrofas. 

Entonces, nosotros cantamos el coro.  Después todos se fueron a sus clases.  Hasta ahora, nosotros aprendemos el pretérito, imperfecto y futuro.  La próxima semana vamos a aprender el condicional.  Después de las clases, fuimos al Parque Juárez a jugar con nuestros maestros.  Cuando pasamos el Jardín, paramos y compramos chicharrones y papas en bolsa.  En el parque jugamos al fútbol y no había mucha gente en el parque.  El partido de fútbol fue muy divertido. 

El tanteo al final era 9-6-6.  Después del partido, volvimos a Casa Carmen y jugamos al ajedrez antes del almuerzo.  Después del almuerzo y la siesta, regresamos a la escuela para un intercambio.  En la escuela nos reunimos con otra escuela en San Miguel, Fray Pedro.  Ellos estaban aprendiendo inglés.  Nosotros hablamos con ellos en español, y ellos hablaron con nosotros en inglés. 

A la mitad del ejercicio, empezó a llover y entramos a los salones.  Esperamos en la escuela por treinta minutos. Entonces, regresamos a Casa Carmen.  La lluvia fue muy duro y las calles eran como ríos.  Cuando llegamos a Casa Carmen, nos duchamos inmediatamente.  Tomamos la cena, que como siempre, es delicioso.

Friday

Today was a quick-paced day.  We had a normal breakfast and for the remaining forty minutes, we played chess and cards.  The walk to school is always fun, but today it was even more fun because it was nice out. 

When we arrived at school, we sang Cielito Lindo and La Bamba.  For Cielito Lindo, we split into two groups.  Each group sang one verse, and then we all sang the chorus.  Both groups were competing to see who could sing the loudest.  For La Bamba, Phillip was the soloist, and he sang the verses and we all sang the chorus.  Then, we all went to our classes.  So far, we are learning the preterit, imperfect and future tenses.  Next week we will learn the conditional tense.  After classes, we went to Parque Juárez to play with our teachers. 

When we passed the Jardín, we stopped and bought chicharrones and chips.  At the park, we played soccer, and there weren’t many people at the park.  The soccer game was a lot of fun.  The final score was 9-6-6.  After the game, we returned to Casa Carmen and played chess before lunch.  After lunch and siesta, we went back to the school for an “exchange.”  At the school we were joined by a group from another school, Fray Pedro.  They are learning English.  The teacher had us talk to them in Spanish, and they talked to us in English. 

About half way through, it began to rain, and we had to move inside.  We waited for about thirty minutes before we could leave.  The rain was coming down hard, and it turned the streets into rivers.  Every time we ran through the street, the water would splash everywhere, getting us soaked.  When we finally returned to Casa Carmen, we rushed inside and straight to the showers.  We had dinner, which as always, was amazing.
